Help for BBB Business/Charity Name Search
The Business/Charity Name search (1) allows you to search for a business or charity using its name. By default, your search will be refined to the local BBB's service area (if you're unsure of which BBB's Web site you're currently visiting, try the "Contact Us" link found in the utility navigation at the top of the search page). If you're on the national BBB Web site, your search will automatically search the entire BBB system.
If you know the location of the business you are trying to find, you can add address information to your search.(2) Adding address information will allow you to search in an area outside of your local BBB's service area. You may enter terms in all three of the optional address search boxes (City, State, and Postal Code). If you only know the State/Province of the business or charity, you can enter just a State/Province. You cannot only search using a City as your additional address information; you must also include either a Postal Code or a State/Province.
You can further refine your search to only list
BBB Accredited Businesses
or Charities by clicking their respective checkboxes. The checkboxes are located just below the Optional Address Search box. (3)
If you want to search by Type of Business, click the Tab labeled "Type of Business" (4). Examples of business category search terms are: "plumbing" or "home builders."
If you want to search using a business or charity's contact information, such as a Phone Number, Web site URL, or Email Address, click the Tab labeled "Phone, URL, or Email" (5). Searches using one of these three types of information will tend to return more exact results.
