Your BBB held its 14th Annual Gerry Wilson Golf Classic, now a 501(c)3, at Maderas Golf Club in Poway on June 4, 2010. This annual fund-raising tournament for the BBB Foundation brought together over 100 business leaders from around the county for a fun-filled day of golf, networking, and fund-riaisng in support of ethical business practices. Proceeds from the event help the BBB Foundation to expand the free services it offers to the over 3 million consumers living in San Diego.
This legendary event is named in honor of our former president and CEO Gerry Wilson. And, in memory of Gerry, our tournament also featured a 6th annual Wacky Slacks Contest. Congrats to Anita Norton of Sycuan Casino for winning the prize for wackiest slacks and Chuck Dunning of XETV Bay City Television for sporting the most outrageous thrift-store look.
A lively awards dinner followed the tournament, along with a live and silent auction that showcased spectacular items and packages that were a hit amongst our attendees. In addition, each golfer received a new pair of Taylor-made Adidas golf shoes at the event.
