For over 10 years,
your BBB has presented the community with an annual list of companies who are
doing business with the utmost honesty and integrity, and this year is no
exception. On December 13th, the San Diego BBB invites all of our
Accredited Businesses to join us at the Town & Country Resort and Hotel to
honor the Torch Award winners of 2011 and enjoy a memorable luncheon.
The Torch
Awards for Marketplace Ethics is a competition that is open to all Accredited
and Non-Accredited San Diego Businesses. Companies who enter must justify how
their business makes strides in increasing transparency between themselves and
the consumer, as well as how they foster good-will and ethics in the community.
The winners
are the Torch Awards are entered in the International Torch Awards competition,
and are given an unprecedented opportunity to receive recognition and promotion
in the local marketplace. Not only are winners of the Torch Awards given the
opportunity to advertise their award and make their business more recognizable
to the community, they are featured prominently on the BBB homepage for an
entire year and in the February edition of San Diego Magazine.
This isn’t any
ordinary awards show. Each year, the luncheon is packed full with over 400 of
San Diego’s top business executives, and the BBB expects no less in 2011. With
most of San Diego’s top business leaders on hand, this signature business event
will honor not just winners and finalists of the Torch Award, but several other
leaders in the local community.
George
Chamberlin will take the stage as Master of Ceremonies for the 14th
consecutive year. Chamberlin, best known as the host of the “Money in the
Morning” radio show and the “Money Matters” segments on NBC7, is as entertaining as he is well-qualified to
emcee the luncheon. The keynote speaker
of the event is veteran and POW Lester Tenney, who will speak on his survival
of the World War II Bataan Death March.
As is
tradition, the BBB will also recognize the Accredited Businesses who have
reached Silver and Gold Circle status with the BBB, meaning that they have been
accredited for 25+ or 50+ years, respectively.
The luncheon will also host the high school juniors and seniors who
entered the BBB’s annual scholarship contest. Entrants wrote essays on “The
Importance on Ethics & Integrity in our Community,” and the winner will
read their entry during the luncheon.
Make sure you
are there to help usher in this year’s Torch Award Winner. The San Diego BBB invites you to purchase a
table of eight seats at $600, or buy single seats at $75 each. This event will sell out and there are only a
