Whether you’re entering for the first time or are a Torch Award veteran, these workshops can help improve your chances of winning the award and gaining public recognition as an ethical business in the marketplace.
Katie S. from Hanna Plumbing states, “Thanks so much for your time and patience today. I found the workshop to be of great value as it provided me with the necessary information I needed to proceed. The examples and step by step power point made this project a much less daunting task. Thanks again!”
Workshop dates for 2012 are March 7th, March 20th, April 11th, April 26th, May 15th, and May 23rd and are held at the BBB offices from noon to 1pm. Attending a workshop is always free and lunch will be served.
What are the Torch Awards?
The BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics is an annual awards program to gain public recognition for businesses and organizations that maintain a solid commitment to ethical business practices. Every winner and finalist of a BBB Torch Award has an unprecedented opportunity for public recognition and well-deserved visibility. The Torch Awards promotes not only the importance of ethical business practices, but the willingness and efforts made by outstanding businesses to ensure that our marketplace remains fair and honorable. The Torch Awards are open to all businesses and organizations that service San Diego and/or Imperial County. BBB Accreditation is not a requirement, however all nominees must be in good standing with the BBB.
Other than gaining public recognition for being an ethical business in the San Diego marketplace, winning a Torch award comes with numerous benefits. Winners and finalists receive a special Torch Awards Winner or Finalist logo to be used on any/all marketing pieces. Winners and finalists are included in a promotional piece given to all luncheon attendees (400+), special ads in Union-Tribune and San Diego Business Journal, which are emailed to 6,000 ABs and 3,250 area consumers. As a winner you may also have the opportunity to appear on San Diego BBB’s homepage and on Channel 6’s “San Diego Living” live TV show. Winners and finalists are announced in a special ad in BBB’s Yellow Pages (hand-delivered to over 300,000 single family homes in San Diego!
