The Better
Business Bureau Student Ambassador Program is here to help pay for those Expensive
tuition fees!
What
is the Student Ambassador Program?
The Student Ambassador program is a
voluntary program to bring information on scams and frauds to the entry-level
consumer. With high disposable incomes, young consumers are easy targets for
scam artists. The Student Ambassador program is designed to train students to
deliver this information to peer groups on campus.
Student Ambassadors will receive two hours
of training on the educational information that they will be asked to share.
They will then have the opportunity to develop and deliver their presentation
to a small peer group. Each ambassador is responsible for scheduling a minimum
of 3 presentations: one per month from March-May. The more peers you present to, the higher
your chances of winning one of 3 scholarships (1st place: $2500, 2nd
place: $1500, or 3rd place: $1000)!
Each Ambassador will be required to make
the presentation to a minimum of two peer groups. Students may choose to work
in teams of two, however, if a scholarship is awarded, the team will divide the
earned scholarship.
Why
should you participate?
Not only will this be a great experience
for your high school student, your high school community will benefit from the
value of this important and relevant education. Upon completion of the program,
students will receive a certificate, designating them an official Student
Ambassador of the Better Business Bureau and recognizing their contribution of
volunteer time toward marketplace ethics. Plus, your students will appreciate
this as a resume builder. A recognition event will be held annually to award
certificates and incentive prizes.
