The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota has been informed consumers are receiving suspicious order confirmation e-mails purportedly from Zappo’s, an online shoe retailer and an Accredited Business with the BBB of Southern Nevada. The BBB has determined these e-mails are fraudulent and do not originate from Zappo’s. Consumers are advised not to click on any links in these e-mails and to contact Zappo’s directly if you’ve ordered shoes from them recently and have questions about your bill.

In all likelihood, this is a phishing scam designed to steal passwords or install a virus or malware on users’ computers. Because the message is fraudulent, the BBB advises that anyone who receives this e-mail take the following steps:

-- Do not click on any links or reply to the message.
-- Completely delete the message from your inbox.
-- Run a full virus scan on your computer if you did click on any links.

If you ever have any questions about an e-mail you receive, caution is always the best approach. Check online with the BBB at www.bbb.org.
