Remote controlled blinds are becoming more and more popular each year. If you like the convenience of pushing a button to open your garage door, just think of what it can do for the window coverings in your home. Adding a motor can be an easy and affordable solution for multiple window openings and hard-to-reach locations.
What makes it so easy to operate your shades with a touch of a button? A handy remote control or an optional wall switch is all it takes. Some remote controls can operate up to five different channels which will usually be enough for your entire home or office. There are two different types: the first is infrared, which is as simple as pointing and clicking the button on the device. The second is the radio remote control shade. It operates on a radio frequency and can be controlled from any location in your home just like the garage door opener. Although more expensive, the radio remote will allow you to operate all the shades at the same time which adds convenience. Remote-controlled blinds operate on batteries or they can be hard wired. The blinds have a receiver made of a motorized tubular design located at the top panel or head rail of the blinds. Pointing the remote control to the infrared sensor of the receiver will operate the window blinds.
The convenience of motorization allows you to set the controls to raise or lower the shades at any given time during the day. You can press the control to open and close the slats and move them at different angles to control the light. It can keep the heat at bay during the day and save you money on your energy bills. Not stopping home after work? No problem. Program your window coverings to close at a certain time in the evening. Another great feature is how quiet the motors have become and since they are cord free, there are no issues with children or pets.
